Katherine Seaborn is a member of the Investment Advisory Committee and is a Charter Investor in the fund. Along with her partner, Katherine recently formed Seaborn/Sterling Advisors, a transaction management and strategic advisory firm for middle market companies. Through S/S A, she advises companies in both sale and buy side transactions and in taking other strategically important actions.
Katherine has more than 30 years of experience in all facets of corporate, securities, finance and private equity transactions. She currently retains an “of counsel” position with Gardere, Wynne and Sewell, LLP, the Dallas law firm where she was a partner for 33 years. While with Gardere, she represented companies in a broad spectrum of industries, including retail, aviation, manufacturing, staffing, technology, food, distribution, health and medical waste. Specific areas of practice have included equity financing (both public and private), mergers and acquisitions, restructures, public board duties, and fiduciary duties of directors and officers.
Katherine has spoken at both legal and business conferences on topics that include "Going Public - The Process" and "Representing the Seller - An Acquisition Story."
Currently Katherine is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the American Bar Association, and a fellow of the Dallas Bar Foundation. She is also a member of the Texas Business Law Foundation, an institution that champions better business laws in Texas.
Katherine formerly served as a clerk for Judge Robert M. Hill in the Federal District Court of the Northern District of Texas. She has also completed six-year tenures as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Dallas Theater Center and as a member of the Board of Directors for Mi Escuelita Schools.
Katherine received her B.A. (Cum Laude) from Southern Methodist University and her J.D. degree (Cum Laude) from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.
